Beyond ADD book coverBeyond ADD

"Hunting for reasons in the past and present"

Beyond ADD is the only one of Thom's books which offers a detailed, scientific explanation for ADHD behaviors...and why they are adaptive.

In his chapter "What Maslow Overlooked," he gives the lie to notions that ADHD children are "lacking inhibition," have "neurotransmitter imbalances," or "are cognitively impaired."

Instead, Thom suggests, ADHD is caused by an intense hunger for the experience of aliveness...a basic human need that is mediated by a genetically determined Thalamic "volume control."

This may well be the most important of Thom's books on the topic of ADHD. Read it carefully.†
